Megaplaza La Paz Shopping Center
The Challenge
During the construction of this 35,000 m² shopping center, differential settlement issues were detected in a section of the foundation, compromising the structural stability of the complex. The client hired us to perform a complete evaluation and propose solutions that would not significantly delay the construction schedule.
Our Solution
We implemented an intensive inspection protocol using 3D scanning technology to precisely identify affected areas. After analyzing the results, we designed a structural reinforcement strategy that included:
- Polyurethane resin injection to stabilize the soil
- Installation of additional micropiles at strategic points
- Reinforcement of foundation beams with carbon fiber
Results
Our intervention allowed for the correction of the structural problem without the need to demolish already built sections, representing a saving of approximately $1.2 million for the client. The shopping center opened as scheduled and has operated without incidents since then, complying with all international safety standards.
Bicentenario Bridge Cochabamba
The Challenge
The Bicentenario Bridge project, with a length of 1.5 km, presented significant challenges due to its location in an area with moderate seismic activity and varying geological conditions. Municipal authorities hired our services to ensure the structure met international standards for seismic resistance and durability.
